The Perfect Drum Sound

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you’re recording a folk song and just need stomps and claps. Maybe you want a hi-fi sound with samples and layers of background percussion. Or maybe you don’t really know what you want and just need someone with more experience to provide a tasteful part that serves your song. That’s where I come in. Let’s work together to make a sound that’s timeless.

Gear

Good sound starts at the source: good drums, good mics, and good preamps.

It’s that simple.

With up to 24 channels that can record simultaneously, it’s safe to say there’s no project too big or small for Up Land Recording House. Ten O’Clock’s array of industry-standard preamps—including Unison, Neve, API, Focusrite, and Great River—allows me to get the absolute highest-quality sounds out of my drums, which run the gambit of 60s vintage all the way up to today’s most mainstream pop. When you consider that Ten O’Clock has the very same microphones, I/O, multi-pads, sample packs, and DAWs you’d find at any major studio, it’s easy to see why so many artists are choosing to go with remote drum recording.

The Process

Initial Consult

The first step in the remote drum recording process is to make contact. Once we’ve met and decided whether I’m the right guy for the job, you can send me scratches, videos, voice memos, wavs, mp3s, etc. that you think will help guide me in getting the drum part right. Then I’ll record the part.

Recording

Getting the part right usually takes a few tries and some back-and-forth between me and the artist, but I’m typically able to nail down the part and have the final tracks back at your desk within the first 24hrs. Sometimes it takes a little longer. The bottom line is we’re going to work as long as it takes to get your parts right.

Pricing

EP/LP

I can add drums to your songs for as little as $50/song (minimum of three tracks).

Singles

Don’t have that many tracks yet? Want to hear the final product before committing to more?

No problem.

I can record drums on your singles remotely for $75/song.

Payment

I take all major forms of payment (cash, credit, debit, venmo, cashapp, etc.).

Don’t have the money up front? Don’t worry. Making great music is too important and costly to be derailed just because you don’t have all the money up front. I’m willing to talk to you and work out a payment plan that’s conducive to your individual needs. Your music is important to me and needs to be heard.
